Pedestrian warning for hire machines. One tag covers every machine.
When a principal contractor asks for a pedestrian warning system on a roller, a reversing beeper no longer answers the question. They want a control that knows a person is there and warns both the operator and the person. CollisionGuard does that on any machine in your yard.
Under clause 215 of the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2017 (NSW), the person with management or control of powered mobile plant at a workplace must ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, that the plant does not collide with pedestrians or other powered mobile plant. Where a collision is possible, the plant must have a warning device that will warn people who may be at risk from its movement. Queensland's Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 has the same requirement (s215).
Forklifts, rollers, excavators, loaders and dump trucks are all powered mobile plant.
SafeWork NSW and WorkSafe Queensland have both listed proximity sensing devices, which detect a person near the plant and raise an alarm, among the controls that can help prevent workers being struck by mobile plant.
A reversing alarm warns everyone. CollisionGuard warns the right person, the one at risk, even when the operator can't see them.
How it works on a machine
A detector on the machine and a tag on every worker. When a tagged person enters the zone, the operator hears "Look out, person near you" and sees a flashing amber lamp, and the worker's tag vibrates at the same moment. The operator's own tag is ignored.
Sees what cameras miss
A low-frequency radio zone, not a camera. It detects people behind the drum or engine hood, in dust, rain, glare and darkness. Cones, barriers and other machines never trigger it, and nothing is filmed.
Any make, any machine
Rollers, excavators, dump trucks, loaders and telehandlers. One system across the fleet, and one tag per worker covers all of it.
Follows the fleet, not the machine
Magnetic quick-release mounting and plug-in cabling on 12 or 24 V. Fit at pre-delivery, remove at off-hire and refit on the next job, in about an hour.
Tags are safety gear
Issue tags at site induction like a vest or hard hat: no tag, no entry to the plant zone. Send a tag pack out with each machine as a hire line item. Tags run up to two weeks per charge.
Set and checked at fit-out
The zone is set to the site's exclusion distance, from about 1.5 m to 10 m, and verified on each machine, so the client's plant inspector sees a working system on day one.
